Dr Ramin Shayan recently attended the 2025 Plastic Surgery Congress, hosted by the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons at the International Convention Centre in Sydney. Held over three days from the 26th to the 28th of June, the event is the premier national gathering for specialist plastic surgeons, offering surgical workshops, education, and professional networking opportunities.
As part of the scientific program, Dr Shayan presented two research papers focused on advancing care for lymphoedema, a complex and often underrecognised condition that can significantly affect quality of life.
His presentations, titled “The Basic Science Underpinning Lymphoedema Treatment” and “Therapeutic Lymphatic Microsurgery in Primary and Secondary Lymphoedema”, explored both foundational research and surgical approaches to understanding and managing lymphatic disorders.
Dr Shayan’s work reflects his ongoing commitment to improving outcomes for patients living with lymphatic conditions. At Brighton Plastic Surgery, lymphoedema remains an important area of focus, supported by both clinical care and scientific research.
Well done, Dr Shayan! A fantastic recognition of your dedication to advancing care for people with lymphoedema, and a valuable contribution to the field. The team at Brighton Plastic Surgery is proud to support and celebrate your work.
