For 30 years Mr Mutimer has focused on a range of plastic cosmetic techniques, in particular facial plastic surgery.

Mr Mutimer has been in private practice for over three decades. He performs a range of cosmetic surgery procedures for both men and women.

They include full and partial face lift, neck surgery, rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, facial implants including chin implants and cheek implants, endoscopic brow lift, laser resurfacing, ear reduction, wrinkle reduction with fat injections and dermal fillers, and lip lift.

For many years Mr Mutimer has worked with Interplast, an organisation which provides expert plastic and reconstructive surgery for people in South East Asia and the Pacific Islands.

His volunteer work with cleft lip and palate patients has changed the lives of many people in China, Fiji, Tonga, the Philippines, Vanuatu, Vietnam and Sri Lanka. Mr Mutimer is the immediate past President of Interplast.

In 2021, Mr Mutimer was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) – for significant service to plastic surgery, and to the international community.

Additionally, in 2021, Mr Mutimer was recognised by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, receiving the RACS International Medal – awarded to a Fellow who has provided a lasting contribution of an exceptional nature over a long period of time in the delivery or development of surgery for underprivileged communities overseas.

Professional Training

Mr Mutimer won a Commonwealth Scholarship to Monash University.

His early surgical training was at Melbourne’s Prince Henry’s Hospital, Western General Hospital, Victorian Plastic Surgery Unit in Preston and Royal Melbourne Hospital. He obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in plastic surgery in 1986.

He has studied, worked and taught overseas in London, Paris and the USA. He was a Fellow in Plastic Surgery at Oxford University in England, worked at Harvard University, the Children’s Hospital, Boston, was Chief Resident of Plastic Surgery at the Brigham Hospital in Boston, and Locum Chief Surgeon at the Lautoka Hospital in Fiji. He has published papers in plastic and reconstructive surgery, lectures plastic surgeons internationally on invitation and regularly attends conferences and workshops around the world.
